David LaChapelle Photographs Fuerza Regida for Rolling Stone’s Future of Music
David LaChapelle photographs Fuerza Regida for one of three covers of Rolling Stone’s 2026 Future of Music issue, alongside fellow cover stars Lola Young and BigXthaPlug. LaChapelle created the photography for all three covers, bringing together three artists from distinctly different musical worlds for the magazine’s annual look at the voices shaping what comes next.
Led by Jesús Ortiz Paz (JOP), Fuerza Regida has grown from performing corridos at backyard parties in Southern California to becoming one of the defining forces in contemporary música mexicana. Rooted in San Bernardino, the group has helped reshape the genre for a new generation, combining traditional Mexican instrumentation with the influence, attitude and visual language of hip-hop and contemporary American culture.

For LaChapelle, the collaboration offered an opportunity to capture the scale, confidence and distinctly Southern California identity of the group. His heightened visual language meets Fuerza Regida’s own bold aesthetic, creating portraits that reflect both where the band comes from and the enormous world they have built around their music.
Together with LaChapelle’s portraits of Lola Young and BigXthaPlug, the Fuerza Regida cover completes Rolling Stone’s Future of Music 2026 triple-cover issue—three very different musical identities, photographed through a single visual lens, representing the increasingly expansive and genre-crossing future of popular music.
